Corrs Chambers Westgarth has announced an innovative new role between Lawyer and Senior Associate called Associate.
Corrs’ new Associate position is a performance-based promotion point that recognises and rewards its outstanding lawyers based on performance, experience and demonstrated capability.
Karen Bennett, Corrs National People Development Manager said, “Promotion to Associate is a meaningful way to celebrate our lawyers’ success. It also offers our lawyers an exceptional opportunity to develop commercial skills and experience, through increased responsibilities and stronger client relationships.”
“The road between lawyer and senior associate can feel long, and the introduction of this early-career promotion point better defines our lawyer’s professional progression.”
“The Associate role, combined with our recently announced new Graduate Development Program, Launch, makes for a compelling career path for lawyers at Corrs.”
Corrs partner, Rod Dann, who led the development of the new role said, “Corrs’ investment in its people programs is part of its drive to create a high performance culture and world class lawyers. The Associate role helps us to achieve this by offering our people greater recognition of performance and potential.
“We are determined to offer the best career paths, rewards, and recognition in the industry and this has made us a much sought after employer.”
Corrs has received nine employer of choice awards in the past four years, and is the only large national law firm to be awarded ALB Gold Employer of Choice 2011 – as voted by staff in an independent national survey.
The firm’s first Associates will be appointed on 1 July 2012.
