Corrs Chambers Westgarth partner and CEO John W.H. Denton has accepted an invitation to be an ambassador for the Australian Human Rights Commission Anti-Racism Strategy and Campaign and the firm has also pledged its support.

The National Anti-Racism Strategy was launched today, 24 August, by the Attorney General The Hon Nicola Roxon MP in Melbourne.

A key feature will be the campaign: “Racism. It Stops with Me”, which invites all Australians to reflect on what they can do to counter racism, wherever it happens.

Over the next three years, the Commission aims to:

  • ensure more Australians recognise that racism is unacceptable in the workplace
  • enhance measures to support cultural diversity by giving businesses the tools and resources to identify and prevent racism
  • empower employers and employees to respond effectively to racism.
