Corrs Chambers Westgarth Partner and CEO, John W. H. Denton has been appointed to the Australian Government’s Asian Century Strategic Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board, announced today by the Prime Minister, will be tasked with advising the Government on how best to meet the challenges of implementing its Asian Century policies.

Leighton Holdings Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Hamish Tyrwhitt will chair the Board which includes; Vice-Chancellor of RMIT, Professor Margaret Gardner AO and Chief Executive Officer and President of Kraft Foods Australia, Rebecca Dee-Bradbury.

These members will join Mr Denton and other White Paper advisers, former Treasury Secretary Dr Ken Henry AC, Telstra chairman Catherine Livingstone AO and The Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy’s Emeritus Professor Peter Drysdale AM.

The Government today also released its Asian Century Implementation Plan, which sets out White Paper measures already taken, action envisaged over the next 12 months and further policies that need development.

Mr Denton was previously an adviser on the Australia in the Asian Century White Paper.
