In one of the largest health sector transactions in recent years, Corrs Chambers Westgarth has advised in the merger between Australian pharmaceutical wholesaler Symbion and EBOS Group Limited of New Zealand.
Corrs advised Zuellig (the owners of Symbion) on the landmark deal, worth NZD$1.5B.
The merger has created Australasia’s largest wholesaler and distributor of healthcare products and will see EBOS become the third largest New Zealand listed company by revenue.
The deal was led by Corrs Corporate and M&A Partner, Justin Fox.
“Corrs is proud to have been involved in this deal, which is important to every Australian household,” Justin Fox said.
“It is further proof of the significant M&A outcomes which are being delivered and closed by our team.”
The deal is the latest announcement in a strong run for Corrs' M&A group. Corrs is also advising Archer Daniels Midland Company in its A$3.4 billion takeover offer for GrainCorp Limited, and is acting for Australian Power and Gas (APG) in a high profile takeover bid by AGL Energy, one of Australia’s largest energy retailers.
