Corrs Chambers Westgarth has further boosted its restructuring and insolvency capability with the appointment of Jason Salman as a partner in its Sydney Restructuring & Insolvency Team.

Jason brings over a decade of international financial restructuring experience to Corrs. He has considerable experience with high profile multijurisdictional restructurings representing a wide range of stakeholders, including financial creditors, corporate debtors, company directors and insolvency practitioners.

Jason joins Corrs from US firm Greenberg Taurig Maher LLP where he led the Business Reorganisation and Financial Restructuring Practice in London, specialising in major cross-border restructurings. Prior to this, Jason was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis International LLP in the financial restructuring group.

Jason has advised on some of the largest and most complex financial restructurings in Europe, including advising on European Directories, Eurotunnel, Wind Hellas, British Energy, Telewest and Reader’s Digest.

The Corrs Restructuring & Insolvency Team is “a market leader in its field” according to leading international benchmarking publication Chambers Global Guide. The team has experienced a surge in restructurings and formal appointments. Clients include major banks, financial institutions and insolvency practitioners.

Corrs Partner & CEO John Denton said Corrs’ Restructuring & Insolvency Team continues to grow its world class capability.

“Jason has the skills and experience to build on this capability and to deliver the best results for our domestic and international clients in complex financial restructurings,” he said.

Jason is the second new partner to join Corrs in the last two weeks, with litigation and product liability expert Annette Hughes appointed to the Litigation Group in the Melbourne office.
