Corrs Chambers Westgarth hosted an important forum on infrastructure opportunities in Indonesia this week.
Recognising Indonesia’s continued demand for infrastructure and Australia’s ability to offer both capital and expertise, the forum explored opportunities for the two countries to build together.
The expert panel consisted of Deputy Chairman of Flagstaff Partners Chris Leptos AM, PricewaterhouseCoopers Director Mark Switkowski, and Corrs partner John Walter.
Before over 50 representatives from business, government, academia and the media, the panel discussed the importance of Australian business improving the sophistication of its engagement with Indonesia, the challenge of international competition, investment models and the role of government.
The Indonesian Consul-General for Victoria and Tasmania, Ibu Dewi Wahab, attended and welcomed Australian interest in infrastructure and investment in Indonesia.
Justin Fox, Corrs partner and Chair of the South East Asia Business Group facilitated the discussion and said, “We are always delighted to contribute to the dialogue about how Australia and Indonesia can do business together. Indonesia is an important market. We see huge opportunities emerging for our clients there”.
The event was a joint Australia Indonesia Business Council, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Corrs initiative.
