Corrs CEO makes list of Australia’s Top 50 most influential in business

18 March 2013

Corrs Chambers Westgarth partner and CEO John W.H. Denton has been named as one of Australia’s Top 50 most influential people in business in The Australian’s annual list.

Mr Denton has made the list of Australian top business influencers for the first time, debuting at number 49, and is the only lawyer listed.

The article in the 16 March edition of The Australian said of Mr Denton, “There is no doubt John Denton has influence. The partner and chief executive of legal firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has met some of the world’s most powerful leaders, including US President Barack Obama, Russian Vladimir Putin and former Chinese president Hu is his current role as chief executive and his numerous government positions that allow him to push the Corrs Chambers Westgarth brand around the world and stave off the fight from international law firms entering the Australian market.”

The annual “Top 50” lists individuals who are the most influential in politics, business, media, education, technology, arts and sport over the past year. This year, Richard Goyder, CEO Wesfarmers, was listed as the most influential business figure in Australia.

This recognition complements Mr Denton’s recent Australasian Legal Business Magazine Award for Managing Partner of the Year 2012 and his appearance in The Australian Financial Review’s power list.
