Corrs CEO makes list of Australia’s most powerful

16 October 2012

Corrs Chambers Westgarth partner and CEO John W.H. Denton has been named a top power player in The Australian Financial Review Magazine’s annual “Power Issue”.

Mr Denton was featured at number two, behind Chief Justice Robert French of the High Court, in the “Legal Eagles List” for 2012.

The article in the October issue of The Australian Financial Review Magazine, said of Mr Denton, “There aren’t too many managing partners who have the ear of the PM but Denton is one. Corrs Chambers Westgarth is neither the largest, richest nor most influential law firm in the country but that has not stopped this consummate networker from winning access to the inner circle of political and business decision-makers. Denton is one of three Australian representatives in APEC’s business advisory council and one of two for the B20. He also sits on the Business Council of Australia and the cabinet sub-committee for Australia in the Asia Century white paper review.”

The annual “Power Issue” is now in its 13th edition and lists individuals who dominated politics, business, sport and the arts over the past year. This year, The Prime Minister Julia Gillard was listed as the most powerful figure in Australia.

This recognition complements Mr Denton’s recent Australasian Legal Business Magazine Award for Managing Partner of the Year 2012.
