Corrs Chairman Teresa Handicott recognised for professional achievement and community contribution

Corrs partner and Chairman Teresa Handicott has won the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumnus Award for 2012.

The award is presented annually to recognise the contribution of graduates of QUT and its predecessor institutions for exceptional professional achievement and contribution to the community at local, state, national and international levels.

Teresa has been recognised for her professional achievements and for her contribution to business and the legal industry through roles with the ACCC, the Takeovers Panel, CS Energy, Finsia and the AICD.

She has also made a tireless commitment to the community via the QUT Law Founders Scholarship which she has been Chair of since its inception in 1997. The scholarship is available to first year students who experience socio-economic disadvantage and enables them to obtain financial support, professional mentoring and assistance in obtaining work experience.

Teresa was also the recipient of the Faculty of Law Outstanding Alumni Award 2012.
