Premium independent law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has been recognised for leading the legal profession in Diversity and Pro Bono at the inaugural ALBERT Awards 2012.
Corrs was the recipient of two of the three major large law firm ALBERT awards, winning the Leadership in Diversity Award – Large Law Firm and Leadership in Pro Bono & Community Award – Large Law Firm.
The ALBERTs recognise firms and in-house legal teams who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in community practice including women in law, pro bono and community outcomes and environment. Winners were announced by ALB Magazine in their December issue out today.

Winners were determined by an independent panel selected by ALB Magazine for their expertise in diversity, environment and pro bono.

Corrs Chambers Westgarth is committed to contributing to the broader community with a pro bono and community engagement agenda that is diverse and far-reaching. It includes providing pro bono legal services for disadvantaged individuals and groups that might otherwise not have access to legal representation, as well as to charitable and not-for-profit organisations.
Corrs is a signatory to the National Pro Bono Resource Centre Aspirational Target. This year, Corrs exceeded the target by nearly 20%, performing an average of 43.8 hours per lawyer of pro bono legal work.
Priority pro bono areas for the firm include refugees and internally displaced persons, homelessness/poverty, Indigenous issues and education.
