Corrs Environment & Planning practice appoints additional partner

Corrs Chambers Westgarth’s Environment & Planning practice has been enhanced by the promotion to partner of distinguished lawyer Michelle Blackburn in Melbourne.

Michelle has strength and dexterity in planning and environmental law. She has a strong history of advising on environment, planning and land access aspects of major property and infrastructure projects, including large scale, commercial, industrial and residential development projects. Michelle also specialises in government and local government law, water law, land acquisition and compensation, and climate change.

Her depth of experience is evident in her roles advising the State on some of Victoria’s largest public infrastructure projects including East Link, the Victorian Desalination Project and the Victorian Channel Deepening Project.

She is also an experienced solicitor advocate and litigator, regularly assisting and representing clients with planning and environmental matters before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Planning Panels, the Supreme Court and the Magistrates’ Court. 

Michelle has been an advisor to a wide range of clients, including State and Federal government, local government, statutory authority and private sector clients. 

Prior to joining Corrs, Michelle worked in private practice and later, in her own boutique planning and environmental law firm.
