Senior delegates from Brazil and leading business leaders celebrated the international launch of the Brazilian Official Guide in Investment Opportunities hosted by The Global Foundation at Corrs Chambers Westgarth last night.

The Guide was launched at an exclusive event by Brazilian Secretary of Trade and Services, Humberto Ribeiro at Corrs’ 8 Chifley Sydney office. The Secretary was accompanied by a senior delegation of business leaders from Brazil.

The Guide outlines over 160 projects worth A$300 billion in the areas of oil and gas, logistics (ports, airports, highways and railways), ITC, engineering and others.

Chief Executive Officer, The Global Foundation, Adie Dawes-Birch, said Brazil is open for business and Australian companies are well received and should be looking to Brazil for new investment opportunities.

“The Global Foundation was delighted to be working with the Brazilian Ministry for Development, Industry and Foreign Trade to host the Secretary and his delegation in Australia.”

“The visit takes place at a time when Brazil is increasingly looking outward for investment in its massive task of developing the country,” said Ms Dawes-Birch.

Corrs head of International Engagement and partner Andrew Messenger said, “Together with the Foundation, Corrs sees this delegation’s visit to Australia as an important opportunity to continue to strengthen bilateral relations between Australia and Brazil through trade and investment, with the launch of the Brazilian Investment Opportunities Official Guide”.

Mr Messenger also confirmed the importance of on-the-ground exposure which was critical to broadening Australia’s understanding of the opportunities in Brazil, “Corrs is focussed on global engagement. Right now, one of our Senior Associates is currently on secondment in São Paulo, working with one of Brazil’s most respected law firms - Veirano Advogados.”
