Corrs to tenant premier Perth office tower

18 June 2013

One of Australia’s largest law firms has come on board as a major tenant of a new office tower planned for Perth’s Brookfield Place precinct.

Corrs Chambers Westgarth has signed an agreement with Brookfield to lease premises in the prestigious new 123 St Georges Terrace development (Brookfield Place Tower 2), due for completion late 2015.

Corrs has leased levels 5 and 6 in the 34,000 square metre building.

It is the third move planned for the firm as it shifts to a more modern and collaborative work environment. Corrs’ Sydney Office will relocate as flagship tenants of the revolutionary 8 Chifley Square in Sydney’s CBD later this year. The firm’s Melbourne office will take space in the new 26-level premium tower at 567 Collins Street mid 2015.

Corrs’ partner and CEO John W.H. Denton said the new tenancies marked the firm’s continued evolution.

“Corrs is thrilled to announce plans to move its Perth office to Brookfield Place as a future tenant of the new St Georges Terrace tower,” Mr Denton said.

“The tower will incorporate the latest in office design and reinforces Corrs’ focus on creating a more collaborative workplace, by occupying modern spaces which allow us to embrace new technologies and greater connectivity. Corrs is proud to be the first large Australian law firm to take steps toward the workplace of the future.”

Brookfield Place Tower 2 will boast large column-free floor plates, cutting edge conference facilities and a 5-star NABERS base building energy rating. It will also incorporate a sheltered upper-level walkway across Mounts Bay Road to provide connectivity between the Perth Bus Port, Esplanade Train Station and Perth’s City Centre.

The Brookfield Place precinct sits in the heart of Perth’s CBD and is a fusion of world-class architecture and amenities. Corrs’ Perth employees will be able to take advantage of an abundance of retail, food and fashion options available in one of the most sought-after business addresses in the city.
