Corrs Chambers Westgarth has been awarded ‘Innovative Project of the Year’ by the International Legal Technology Association at its Distinguished Peer Awards ceremony.
IT director Berys Amor accepted the award, which is one of the most prestigious in legal technology, on behalf of the firm on 1 September 2015.
The award was in recognition of Corrs’ crisis management app, Crisis Covered which is a two way communication tool that changes the way clients can seek and receive legal advice following a workplace incident or crisis. Corrs developed Crisis Covered after recognising that once an incident happens, key people need access to legal advice that is secure and confidential at any time on any day.
Crisis Covered enables the user to communicate with a Corrs partner from any location via their smart phone, tablet or desktop and facilitates the exchange of images, documentation and potential evidence in real time.
The concept for Crisis Covered came from Corrs’ Workplace Health & Safety team, who worked closely with the firm’s IT & Innovation teams to transform their idea into a technology solution that would have significant benefits to Corrs’ clients.
Berys Amor who led the technology team which developed the app said:
“Corrs is committed to finding new and innovative ways to doing things that will meet our clients’ needs for greater speed, responsiveness and value.
This award is testament to the strong focus and investment that Corrs has made and continues to make in innovative technologies that create efficiency and enhance client satisfaction.
We will continue to use our technical expertise and in-depth market insight to pioneer new ways of working that will ensure our clients receive the very best service possible.”
