Study at world leading institutions awarded to Corrs scholarship recipients

7 November 2014

Corrs Chambers Westgarth has announced the 2014 recipients of its annual Corrs Scholarship for Individual Excellence and the John Slattery Scholarship.

Todd Spiller, a senior associate in the Brisbane construction team, was awarded the prestigious John Slattery Scholarship and will attend the Executive Negotiation Workshop: Bargaining for Advantage at Wharton University of Pennsylvania. The John Slattery Scholarship is awarded to the most outstanding applicant within the firm. Highly exclusive, this scholarship rewards exceptional performance and collaboration – a person with the cultural characteristics needed to achieve our assertive growth aspirations and who demonstrates the qualities expected of the firm’s future leaders.

This year Corrs Scholarships for Individual Excellence were also awarded to 17 individuals from both legal and business services. The recipients will attend esteemed institutions such as Harvard Law School, National University of Singapore, Australian Institute of Management and INSEAD Singapore, as part of the Corrs Scholarship Program.

Corrs Partner & CEO John W.H. Denton warmly congratulated this year’s winners and said, “The Corrs Scholarship Program gives our people an edge in a disrupted market. It offers our recipients the opportunity to enhance their technical and business skills through further study either in Australia or overseas.”

“The scholarship program provides an excellent chance to further professional development at international institutions, equipping our people to provide better advice for clients in a globalised world. Consistent with our strategy of developing a global network, almost all of the scholarships awarded are internationally based.”

In the near decade the Corrs Scholarship Program has been running, more than 200 Corrs people have been awarded scholarships to attend 40 institutions in 11 countries.
