Chris' Expertise

  • Adelaide Desalination Plant Acts for the McConnell Dowell - Lend Lease joint venture, which is the main design and construct contractor in relation to various contractual issues and disputes arising out of the $1.8 billion Adelaide Desalination Plant project.
  • Origin Energy, BassGas Project Key member of the legal team acting for the joint venture owners of the BassGas project in a major arbitration with the project’s contractors which successfully defended contractual claims of $59 million and Trade Practices Act claims of $94 million, and established liability in respect of 145 of 166 defects claimed.
  • San Diego SR 125 Toll Road Project Acted for the owner and operator of the SR 125 toll road project in San Diego, California, in a US$700 million dispute with its construction contractor. The project is one of three demonstration PPP projects in California and the dispute involved complex legal, commercial and dispute management issues, with different aspects of the dispute being the subject of separate arbitration proceedings and litigation in the San Diego Superior Court.
  • WA Telfer Pipeline Project Member of the team that acted for McConnell Dowell as contractor for the Telfer gas pipeline project in Port Hedland, in a dispute with the project's principal. The value of the dispute was approximately $40 million.
  • Tasmanian Studland Bay Wind Farm Acted for Roaring 40s in a dispute with its wind turbine installer for the Studland Bay Wind Farm project in Tasmania.
