An experienced construction lawyer, James advises private and public sector project participants about the avoidance, strategic management and resolution of construction claims and disputes.

He assists clients with all forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, expert determination and adjudication under Security of Payment legislation. He also advises on contract administration and delivery strategies while projects are ongoing to manage risk and improve project outcomes.

James has acted in disputes on major projects throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific, particularly in the resources (LNG, coal and minerals, renewables), infrastructure (ports, pipelines, electricity infrastructure, roads, bridges, rail) and commercial construction sectors.

James holds a Master of Laws, specialising in construction law. He is a member of the Society of Construction Law Australia and has mentored emerging industry professionals as part of its Young Constructors’ Committee.
