Justin O'Callaghan

Justin is a projects and infrastructure lawyer with significant experience advising on complex and transformative infrastructure projects across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on asset delivery.

He advises owners, major contractors and other major project participants regarding all aspects of significant infrastructure and construction projects. Justin’s expertise includes drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on all forms of project documentation, including in relation to EPC, EPCM, PPP and alliance delivery models.

  • $25 billion APLNG Project Advised Origin Energy as operator of the c$25 billion APLNG project, providing project delivery advice as well as dispute resolution strategy and related contractual analysis in connection with a number of disputes.
  • $16 billion Carmichael Coal Mine and Rail Project Advised POSCO E&C on all aspects of the rail and port projects for the c$16 billion Carmichael Coal Mine, including on both the drafting and negotiation of EPC contracts with the owner and the drafting and negotiation of significant subcontract packages.
  • Silica Mine Procurement Advised Cape Flattery Silica Mines on the structuring and development of EPC contracts for significant equipment procurement.
  • Infrastructure Contract Development Advised a Government-Owned Corporation on the development of a bespoke contracting structure and suite of contracts for the delivery of major infrastructure and related procurement.
  • $100 million Howard Smith Wharves Advised HSW Nominees on all construction aspects of the c$100 million Howard Smith Wharves Revitalisation Project.
