Robert brings over 30 years' experience in mergers and acquisitions, acquisition strategies and defences, corporate reconstructions, equity fundraising, schemes of arrangement, venture capital investment and general corporate compliance to assist clients to achieve their goals.
Robert also practises in the agriculture, mining, mining services and technology sectors. He holds memberships with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Liaison Committee, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the ASX Liaison Committee.
Advising on the sale of Gold Road’s 50% interest in the Gruyere Gold Development Project in the eastern goldfields of WA to Gold Fields Limited for over A$350 million, which included the negotiation of a JV agreement, royalty and regional co-operation arrangements.
Advising on the corporate aspects of the acquisition by Quadrant Energy (a consortium between Macquarie, Brookfield and AMB) of the Australian oil and gas assets of Apache Energy for A$2.5 billion.
Advised on the pre-IPO restructure and the A$330 million IPO of one of Australia’s largest livestock exporters, Wellard Limited.
Advising on the acquisition of Australia’s largest prawn farming business in Northern Queensland and on the acquisition and lease of Legune Station, offtake arrangements with one of Japan’s largest seafood company, Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui), and funding matters related to Project Sea Dragon, a development project to construct the world’s largest prawn aquaculture operations on Legune Station in the Northern Territory, Australia.
Numerous equity capital raisings including ANREO raisings for Dacian Gold (A$110 million), Gold Road (A$50 million), and placements for Seafarms and Dacian Gold.
