Premium independent law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has appointed Alan Colman as a Consultant in the Workplace Relations team in Melbourne.

Alan returns to Australia from the United Kingdom, where he worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, most recently as Acting Chief Counsel.

Specialising in workplace relations and dispute resolution, Alan is regarded as an exceptional senior lawyer with extensive strategic labour law and international development experience. Alan previously worked for 13 years at another leading Australian firm, advising corporate and government clients on industrial relations and workplace change. Alan has also worked in legal roles at the United Nations in Geneva.

Alan’s experience spans a range of sectors, including aviation, banking, manufacturing, mining, telecommunications and stevedoring. He brings to Corrs’ workplace practice both high level industrial law and strategic advisory skills, as well as broad experience in emerging markets.

Alan commenced in the Melbourne office at the start of November.
