Anna is widely regarded as a specialist in environment and planning law, with a broad practice spanning environmental regulatory compliance, environmental governance, contamination response and management, environmental prosecutions, environmental impact assessment and climate reporting. She also advises on strategic and statutory planning matters, approval pathways and planning appeals.
Anna’s practice is multi-jurisdictional, spanning both public and private sector clients. She advises on site establishment, operational and closure matters across a range of sectors, as well as environment and planning due diligence on corporate and real estate transactions. Anna has a wide range of energy and infrastructure experience advising on renewable energy, mining, oil and gas, transmission network, airport, port, heavy rail, light rail, road and tunnelling projects. This includes advising on iconic infrastructure and property development projects including the Suburban Rail Loop Project, the West Gate Tunnel Project, the Gold Coast Light Rail Project, the Copperstring 2032 Project and the Victorian Desalination Project.
Advising on remediation issues associated with a priority development site, including regulatory requirements under contaminated land provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld) and contractual risk sharing.
Advised on planning approval requirements for a significant Energy from Waste project and ongoing advice on environmental compliance obligations.
Advising the Department of Transport and Main Roads on planning issues associated with the interface of light rail infrastructure and developments along the light rail corridor and contamination management issues.
Advised the State on the environmental impact statement for the project and the preparation of planning scheme amendments, cultural heritage management plans, applications for coastal management consent, native title future act requirements and land acquisition and compensation issues.
Advised on native title analysis to support a mining lease application and representation in a native title determination application before the Federal Court.
Advised on environmental approval requirements under Queensland and Commonwealth legislation, environmental compliance obligations, incident response and investigations.
