Craig has 20 years' experience in banking, restructuring, insolvency and commercial litigation.
He has advised Australia's leading banks and other non-mainstream lenders on numerous corporate collapses, and has acted for voluntary administrators, liquidators, provisional liquidators and receivers and managers in many high-profile corporate insolvencies.
Craig also has extensive experience in bank-related litigation involving secured and unsecured debt recovery, cheque conversion, fraud and unconscionable conduct claims. He has considerable experience in breach of director duty litigation, and has acted for secured creditors in respect of financial ombudsman complaints.
Advised on its lending exposure to the Modbury Triangle Shopping Centre Group, the owner of a major shopping precinct in Adelaide. When the matter progressed to enforcement, also acted for Ryan Eagle and David Kidman of KPMG in their roles as receivers and managers of Modbury.
Advising on the financial restructuring of facilities associated with the development of eight properties in Western Sydney owned by the Dyldam Group with an aggregate value of over A$500 million.
Acting for the bank on its exposure to a winery in South Australia, including navigating the requirements of the Farm Debt Mediation Act.
Advising the controllers of Rockdale Central with respect to a half-finished commercial/residential dwelling in Rockdale.
Acting for the secured creditors and the receivers and managers in connection with the collapse of construction giant Clough Group, including undertaking complex recovery action to pursue more than A$300 million owed to the secured creditors.
Acting for NAB and the receivers and managers it appointed to a mango farm in the Northern Territory. The receivers traded the farming business through a harvest season, conducted a marketing and sale campaign, negotiated service agreements with fruit pickers and packers, addressed equipment finance liabilities with other financiers, and managed employment contracts. Also advised NAB on the Farm Debt Mediation legislation and acted for NAB in successfully resisting an injunction brought by its customers seeking to remove the receivers.
