Jonathan has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial law and investment banking. He specialises in M&A, strategic advice, corporate governance and capital raisings.
As a result of the range of his experience, Jonathan brings a truly commercial perspective to legal advice and is noted by his clients for his ability to ‘speak their language’.
He has worked on more than 100 transactions during his career with a combined value of over A$50 billion and was recently ranked as one of Australia’s top 10 M&A dealmakers. Jonathan also leads the startups practice at Corrs.
Jonathan holds first class honours degrees in Commerce and Law, and a Master of Laws, from the University of Melbourne.
He is a lecturer at the University of Melbourne, and since 2000 has been co-editor of the takeovers and public securities section of the Company and Securities Law Journal.

Advised Zijin Mining Group on its US$298 million acquisition of an interest in Porgera and its A$38 million acquisition of Norton Goldfields.
