Michelle is an insolvency lawyer specialising in complex, high-value domestic and cross-border insolvencies and disputes. She has considerable experience advising on all aspects of insolvent estates, with a particular speciality in contentious situations.
Michelle regularly advises on complex litigation and is recognised for tenaciously pursuing results for her clients whilst providing strong strategic and commercially sound advice. She has acted in numerous matters involving allegations of misleading and deceptive conduct and fraud and has served as an adviser in civil, criminal and regulatory investigations in the context of insolvency.
Qualified to practise in both Australia and England & Wales, Michelle is a member of the Turnaround Management Association of Australia and the Women’s Insolvency Network of Australia. She also serves as Corrs’ partner in charge of graduate recruitment for the Sydney office.
Acting for the lead applicant in a class action against Virgin Australia, two of its directors, and its insurers, in relation to Virgin Australia’s circa $900 million notes issue shortly before it entered voluntary administration in April 2020.
