Phil has acted for some of Australia’s leading organisations in their technology procurement and implementation transactions, and has regularly advised on resolving technology disputes. He practises extensively in data privacy and commercial intellectual property law and has represented numerous organisations in managing their data privacy matters, including data breaches being investigated by the Australian Privacy Commissioner.

Phil is dual qualified in law and computer science and understands the unique and often technically complex issues that businesses face on data privacy and technology issues.

Widely respected in the data privacy and technology legal community, Phil is a former president of the Victorian Society for Computers and the Law, Australia’s representative at the International Technology Law Association and is currently voted by his peers in the profession as the leading TMT lawyer in Melbourne in Best Lawyers.

Phil is the partner-in-charge of Corrs' Melbourne office. He is the Australian local representative of the International Technology Law Association and a Data Protection Committee member of iTechLaw. He is also an Advisory Board Member – Australian Cyber Security School of Excellence at the University of Melbourne, and a Law School Advisory Board Member at Deakin University.

A regular contributor to thought leadership, Phil co-authored the ‘Australia’ chapter in LexisNexis UK’s publication The Financing of Intangible Assets: TMT Finance and Emerging Technologies. He also contributed to the ‘Fairness and Non-Discrimination’ chapter in Responsible AI – A Global Policy Framework, a book by the International Technology Law Association, and writes often on data privacy and technology issues.
