Carolyn has over 13 years’ experience in planning, environment and local government law.
She specialises in planning and environment litigation in the Planning and Environment Court and resumption and compensation litigation in the Land Court. Carolyn also has experience in enforcement matters and in drafting and advising in relation to significant infrastructure agreements and planning instruments.
Carolyn acts for a range of South East Queensland local governments, as well as private and state government clients. She is a member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association and the Property Council of Australia.
Acted on behalf of local government clients in respect of a number of appeals in the Planning and Environment Court, as well as the Court of Appeal Queensland, in relation to the refusal of development applications for commercial ground water extraction.
Acted on behalf of both claimants and constructing authorities in relation to compulsory acquisition of land matters in the Land Court and Land Appeal Court. Acted on behalf of clients in the Supreme Court of Queensland in relation to matters under the Acquisition of Land Act 1967.
Acted on behalf of local government clients in relation to a number of appeals in the Planning and Environment Court against the local government refusal of development applications for poultry farms.
Acted in proceedings commenced against local government clients in relation to discrimination in the Federal Circuit Court.
