Corrs' project development and finance practice is one of Australia's most highly regarded. We advise domestic and international sponsors, developers, financiers, government funding agencies and export credit agencies on the financing of nationally significant projects across energy, infrastructure and resources. We act at every stage of a project, from initial acquisition or development and structuring through to financial close, construction, commissioning, long-term operation or disposal.

The energy transition is at the centre of our practice. We have advised on the development and financing of projects spanning onshore and offshore wind, solar, pumped hydro, biomass, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transmission networks, grid-scale infrastructure, and hydrogen and green ammonia projects. We also bring longstanding depth in conventional power, oil and gas (including LNG) and critical minerals - sectors where complex permitting, offtake and commodity risk demand specialist project finance capability.

Integrated with Corrs' market-leading projects and infrastructure team, we deliver financing solutions across economic and social infrastructure, including ports, airports, road and rail, digital infrastructure and data centres, health, education and social and affordable housing and have deep experience in public-private partnerships (PPPs) and availability-based financing structures.

Our team structures and executes development finance, corporate finance, debt capital markets and acquisition finance mandates, including multi-source capital structures combining commercial bank debt, institutional funding, private placements and export credit agency support. We draw on Corrs’ specialist expertise in environment and planning, construction and major projects, energy regulation, tax and corporate/M&A to identify legal, commercial and technical risks early and resolve them efficiently.

With a deep understanding of market practice and precedent, we help our clients to undertake due diligence, allocate risk appropriately and craft financing structures that achieve the sponsor’s objectives while satisfying financier bankability requirements.

Whether the mandate involves a greenfield development, a brownfield acquisition or a portfolio refinancing, our priority is achieving a financing outcome that is executable, commercially robust and aligned with our client's long-term objectives.
