Rommel specialises in project finance, corporate and structured finance, acquisition finance, derivatives and restructuring.
He advises and represents financiers, borrowers, sponsors, equity investors and government bodies. He has acted in relation to financing major projects (particularly social and economic infrastructure), power generation, resource projects and PPPs, as well as corporate and structured finance, acquisition finance and derivatives.
Rommel is a member of APLMA: Asia Pacific and is also an adviser to the Homeless Persons’ Legal Service.
Advised ESR Australia on the debt financing arrangements for its off-market public takeover of Propertylink Group (ASX: PLG).
Acted for CBS in respect of the restructure and acquisition of Ten Network, including refinancing the secure bank debt.
Acted for Summer Housing in respect of financing its NDIS development projects.
Acted for SGCH in its successful bid regarding the Social and Affordable Housing Fund (Phase 1), including debt financing with Clean Energy Finance Corporation, and acting for SGCH in relation to Phase 2.
Acting for the ALTRAC consortium, including Acciona, Alstom, Capella Capital and Transdev, in respect of the debt funding for its successful bid for the CBD and South East Light Rail PPP.
