Michael was a director at AMPLA: The Resources and Energy Law Association from 2003 - 2013. During that time he served as Queensland President from 2003 - 2008 and as National President in 2012.

Advised on the restructure of the shareholding and financing arrangements in relation to the NCIG coal export terminal in Newcastle.
Advised the consortium on the development of a privately owned, project financed 800km electricity transmission network from Townsville to Mt Isa.
Advising on the Biofutures Acceleration Program including the procurement process and assistance agreements, to facilitate the development of a biofutures industry in Queensland.
