Australia’s leading independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, today announced that experienced tax partner Janet Cho has joined its tax practice.
Based in Sydney, Janet specialises in indirect taxes and structured transactions, with a particular focus on stamp duty, land tax and GST. She has experience in property and funds structuring, IPOs, mergers and demergers, corporate M&A, and complex corporate restructures.
Commenting on the appointment, Corrs Senior Partner and CEO Gavin MacLaren said: “Janet has significant experience working on complex and high-value transactions and her appointment further strengthens our market-leading tax team. We are delighted to welcome Janet to the Corrs partnership.”
Janet’s appointment follows a series of high-profile senior appointments to the Corrs tax practice. Most recently, Costa Koutsis joined the team from Ashurst, where he served as Global Co-Head of the firm’s Tax Practice. These senior appointments, along with other recent hires in the tax team, have reinforced Corrs’ position as a leading legal advisor in indirect tax.
